Itele Celebrates As ‘Koleoso’ Hits 141.6m Views, Becomes Most-Viewed African Film On YouTube

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele d’Icon, is celebrating a major milestone after his Yoruba-language movie series, Koleoso, surpassed 141.6 million combined views on YouTube.
The filmmaker announced the achievement on Tuesday, revealing that the 13-part series has continued to attract millions of viewers on the video-sharing platform.
According to Yekini, the feat has positioned Koleoso as the most-viewed African movie title on YouTube, with its total viewership still increasing.
“Koleoso makes history as the most-viewed African movie title on YouTube, with over 140 million combined views across Parts 1-13 and still counting,” he said.
The figures shared by the filmmaker highlight the impressive performance of the individual episodes. Part 1 has recorded 9.8 million views, while Part 2 has garnered 9.9 million. Part 3 has attracted 8.9 million views, with Parts 4 and 5 each reaching 10 million.
Parts 6, 7 and 8 have each crossed the 12 million mark, while Part 9 has accumulated 13 million views. Part 10 remains the highest-performing instalment, with 16 million views.
Meanwhile, Parts 11, 12 and 13 have recorded 9.9 million, 9.4 million and 8.7 million views respectively.
Produced in the Yoruba language, Koleoso combines supernatural elements, family drama and themes drawn from traditional African culture. The series has gained a significant following in Nigeria and among viewers in the diaspora through the IteleDIconStudio YouTube channel.
The achievement comes months after the series crossed the 100 million cumulative-view mark in 2026. At the time, it was reported as the first Nollywood and African movie title to reach the milestone across multiple instalments on a single YouTube channel.
Reacting to the latest milestone, Yekini described the success as a collective achievement involving his fans, cast and crew rather than a victory for him alone.

A massive shout-out to the entire KOLEOSO FAMILY my amazing fans who kept watching, sharing and supporting this journey.
