Lagos-based grassroots radio station, Miliki 101.3 FM, has celebrated its fourth anniversary with the recognition and cash reward of its three outstanding callers.
The award ceremony, held on Tuesday at the station’s office in Ojodu Abiodun, Lagos, saw Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Anike Salami emerge as the Best Caller of the Year, while Oluwafunmilayo Oba and Oluwafunmilayo Onafuwa Julius took second and third positions respectively.
Speaking at the anniversary reception and award presentation, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Miliki FM, Chief Henry Ajomale, thanked the station’s listeners and callers across Nigeria and beyond for their continued support over the past four years.
Ajomale, who was accompanied by his wife, Adetoun Ajomale, and his son, Hon. Ladi Ajomale, said the loyalty of listeners and callers around the globe had played a major role in keeping the Miliki dream alive.
He also commended members of staff for their dedication, commitment and transparent approach to their duties, saying their efforts had contributed significantly to the station’s continued reputation as the “King of the Airwaves” (Oba Ori Afefe).
Also speaking at the event, the President of the Miliki Radio Fans Club, Mr. Sanni Adegbenga Taofik, commended Chief Ajomale for institutionalising the annual award as a way of appreciating the station’s loyal listeners.
According to him, the initiative has become a tradition since the station celebrated its first anniversary.
Taofik said Miliki Radio came on air four years ago with a commitment to entertain, inform and connect with people, particularly those at the grassroots, while preserving and promoting Yoruba culture and heritage.
He said the station had since transformed that vision into a movement embraced by listeners across different parts of the world.

Taofik further praised the station’s programmes, music, news and community engagement, describing Miliki 101.3 FM as a major voice connecting Lagos, Ogun and audiences across the world through both terrestrial broadcasting and online streaming.
“Your programmes, your music, your news and your community engagement have made Miliki Radio 101.3 FM not only the heartbeat of Lagos and Ogun States, where you are domiciled, but of the world at large. I can testify that many people listen to Miliki via the internet,” he said.
The colourful anniversary celebration attracted prominent personalities, including the Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, Otunba Jide Oni; the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju; and Hon. Monsuru Oloyede, among other dignitaries, staff members, listeners and friends of the station.
The fourth anniversary further underscored Miliki FM’s grassroots broadcasting philosophy and its emphasis on building a strong bond between the station and its listening community.
