“Money Can’t Buy Happiness, But It Can Buy You Time” – TG Omori Opens Up On Kidney Failure Experience

Music video director TG Omori has opened up about his kidney failure experience, revealing how much he spent on healthcare and why the illness changed his perspective on money.

Speaking during a recent interview, Omori said he spent a huge amount of money on treatment, particularly dialysis, while waiting for a kidney transplant.

“Money is actually important because I can’t lie to you, we’ve spent a lot of cr@zy money,” he said.

According to him, dialysis can cost between ₦50,000 and ₦70,000 per session in some hospitals, while he paid between ₦150,000 and ₦200,000 at a private facility.

Omori said patients may need about three sessions weekly, meaning the cost could reach about ₦500,000 to ₦600,000 every week.

He explained that when treatment continues for a year, the cost can rise to about ₦31 million, excluding additional tests, medication and possible complications.

“So automatically, if your salary is even one million naira a month, it can’t serve you. You know, it’s crazy. So you have to actually have money not just money, you have to have people that have money to also support you,” he said.

Reflecting on the experience, Omori concluded: “Even though money can’t buy happiness, but money can still buy some time.”
