A Delta State court has remanded content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, over allegations relating to the rape and death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
The remand application was heard and granted by the court on Friday, September 4, 2026, following the conclusion of the application before the court.
Awele Ideal, counsel representing Favour Agbro’s family, disclosed the development in a social media post on Friday.
According to the lawyer, Ogbonna has been taken into custody at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the case.
Announcing the development, Ideal said the application seeking Ogbonna’s remand was heard and subsequently granted by the court.
She wrote, “Today the 4/9/2026, the application to remand Mr Ifeanyi Ogbonna (Odogwu Asaba) was heard and granted by the Court.”
The lawyer added that the content creator had subsequently been remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre.
The development marks another stage in the investigation and legal proceedings surrounding the death of Favour Agbro.
The remand came shortly after the autopsy and toxicology results connected to the case were made available to the police investigation team.
The results, according to Ideal, have been included alongside other evidence gathered by investigators in an investigation report prepared for prosecution and trial.
The lawyer said the report contains evidence gathered during the course of the investigation and will form part of the materials available as the case moves into the prosecution stage.
The release of the forensic findings represents an important development in the investigation, particularly as authorities continue working to establish the circumstances surrounding Favour’s death.
Ideal further disclosed that the next stage of the case will involve the Delta State Ministry of Justice.
According to her, the Attorney-General and Director of Public Prosecutions will handle the prosecution as the legal process continues.
Ogbonna is expected to appear before the court as proceedings progress.
The development means that the case will now proceed through the relevant judicial process, where the allegations and evidence presented by the prosecution can be considered by the court.
As the matter remains before the court, the allegations against Ogbonna have not been established as facts, and the legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the case.
Awele Ideal also reaffirmed her commitment to representing the family of the late Favour Agbro.
