A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has said only God and President Bola Tinubu know what will happen in the 2027 presidential election.
Galadima made the statement while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, where he discussed the NDC presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
“Only God and Tinubu knows what will happen in this election,” Galadima said.
He also alleged that opposition figures had faced coordinated attacks but expressed confidence in the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.
“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso will win this election if it is free, fair, and credible unless there is someone with a machinery willing to take it away from them.”
Galadima dismissed concerns about divisions between Obi and Kwankwaso, saying both politicians remained close and were working together.
He described their combination as a “healing ticket,” arguing that their political backgrounds and support bases complement each other.
“Obi and Kwankwaso complement each other in every move. We are running a single ticket; that is why we call this ticket a healing ticket.”
Galadima also questioned politicians promising to restore fuel subsidy, urging Nigerians to examine their previous positions before accepting such promises.
“If someone tells you I will restore subsidy, will you just believe him without looking at his background?”
He further criticised the Tinubu administration over what he described as continuing fuel-related government spending referred to as “Energy security expenses.” His statements about the administration were his own political claims and were not independently established by the reports reviewed.
