The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR, has sparked excitement online after a video of him dancing during the 2026 Olojo Festival surfaced on social media.
The monarch was captured displaying impressive energy as he made his way back to the palace after taking part in a royal procession in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Rather than maintaining the usual reserved composure associated with royal appearances, the Ooni appeared relaxed and fully immersed in the celebration, dancing enthusiastically to the sound of traditional music.
The footage, documented by Motherland Reality Television, showed a lively nighttime scene outside a gated compound.
A brass band provided the musical backdrop as masked and traditionally dressed performers entertained the crowd. Several spectators could be seen holding up their phones to capture the colourful display, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The celebration reflected the rich cultural heritage associated with the Olojo Festival, one of the major traditional festivals celebrated annually in Ile-Ife.
The festival is held in honour of Ogun, the Yoruba deity associated with iron, and features a number of sacred rituals and royal activities led by the Ooni of Ife.
