The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Osun State, has supported six party candidates for the 2027 general elections, while admitting that Nigerians are facing hardship from President Bola Tinubu’s economic decisions.
The APC leadership in Ijesa South Federal Constituency named six candidates it will support in the 2027 general elections, in a document signed by Kunle Odeyemi and Femi Kujembola.
The document was obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, after a party meeting. The party said it took the decision to show its trust in the listed candidates and in President Tinubu’s economic reforms, ahead of elections that will decide who represents the constituency and its neighbours in government.
Six names get the party’s backing
The party said it is committed to Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East in the Senate.
It also expressed confidence in Olusanya Omirin, the current member representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and in four other candidates on its list.
These are Rt. Hon. Timothy Adigun Owoeye for Ilesa East State Constituency, Babatunde Festus Komolafe for Atakumosa East and West State Constituency, and Hon. Abayomi Ojo for Ilesa West State Constituency. A State Constituency is an area used to pick lawmakers who sit in a state’s House of Assembly.
Party admits hardship, promises it will pass
On the state of the economy, the party admitted that Nigerians “may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions” taken by President Tinubu. It gave its word that things will get better.
“Though, we may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions, we want to assure the people that, in due time, we shall overcome all the hardships,” the party said. It said this while also stating its confidence in the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kassim Shettima.

The party asked electorate to give it their support in all the elections.
“The party therefore seeks passionately for massive support of the electorates in all the elections, as we also sue for peace, unity and harmony,” it said.
The party said it has trust in the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency, who it said have shown they want to vote APC as a sign of patriotism and proof that Ijesaland is the home of progressives in the state.

The endorsement covers only Ijesa South Federal Constituency, one part of the larger Osun East Senatorial District. Fadahunsi’s Senate seat and Omirin’s House of Representatives seat both come up for re-election in the 2027 general elections, alongside the three State Constituency seats named.
The statement comes after an earlier development involving Fadahunsi. The APC in the six local government areas that make up the Ijesa axis of Osun East Senatorial District had rejected calls for Fadahunsi’s recall from the Senate.
Those six local government areas are Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West.
The new endorsement, which now openly names Fadahunsi and the five other candidates as the party’s choices for 2027, shows the APC leadership in Ijesa South standing firmly behind the senator despite the recall calls raised earlier.
This shows that the party has settled on its candidates for the Senate seat, the House of Representatives seat, and the three State Constituency seats, well ahead of the 2027 general elections.
