Police in Lagos have shut down a suspected illegal factory manufacturing fake alcoholic drinks in Badagry and arrested a 48-year-old man found at the site.
Officers raided the operation in Yafin, Badagry, after receiving a tip from residents.
They found counterfeit alcoholic beverages, empty bottles, fake labels and production equipment allegedly used to make and package the drinks.
The suspect, Anaebo Hilary, was taken into custody while investigators secured the factory.
The seized items have been moved to the police station for further examination.
The Lagos police commissioner praised the operatives for acting swiftly on community information and called on residents to keep reporting suspected criminal activity through the command’s emergency lines.
