Police Play Secret Ghana Jollof Audio Over Alleged Jubilee House Coup Claim — Listen To The Audio Here 

The Ghana Police Service has played an audio recording allegedly linked to TikTok commentator Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as “Ghana Jollof”, during a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) press briefing on Friday, September 18.

The recording was presented as part of evidence in an ongoing investigation into alleged false news, inciteful comments and offensive conduct associated with the Ghana Jollof TikTok account.

According to CID Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, one of the videos under investigation contained a claim by Ghana Jollof that there had been a near coup at the Jubilee House.

Police say investigations have identified Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, who is believed to be living in the United Kingdom, as the person behind the account. The Service declared her wanted on September 17 over alleged incitement to violence.

The case has also led to the arrest and remand of 40-year-old senior nursing officer Salomey Awiti Bafoh, who police allege assisted Ghana Jollof in distributing her videos and recruiting others to circulate them.

Bafoh has pleaded not guilty to a charge of abetment of crime, to wit publication of false news, and is expected to reappear before the court on September 30.

Police further disclosed that forensic examination of phones, audio and video files, as well as mobile money records, had uncovered alleged financial links involving people who supported the activities.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police saying they are working to identify others allegedly involved in producing, funding and circulating the content.
