Eight months after their gruesome killings, their eldest son has walked down the aisle with his long-time partner in a secret ceremony.
Jake recently gave his first interview since Rob and Michele’s heartbreaking demise, for which his brother Nick Reiner has been arrested.
It has now been confirmed that Jake and his fiancée Maria Gilfillan are officially married. The pair were said to have exchanged their vows in a super intimate ceremony earlier this month.
Although Jake has yet to publicly comment on the news, he was seen wearing a wedding band in his recent interview about his parents’ murder.
It’s unclear the exact timeline of Jake and Gilfillan’s relationship as the pair are super low-key. However, TMZ reported he gave fans a little glimpse of their bond in an October 2025 post.
Jake previously hinted at his plans to say “I do” in an emotional Substack post reflecting on his parents’ passing. He opened up about the pain of Rob and Michele not being able to watch him get married or hold their grandchildren.

The wedding news comes just days after Jake broke his silence in his first interview eight months post-tragedy.
Opening up about the emotional wreck of losing both parents in such a disturbing manner, he confessed to being filled with anger at the sheer injustice.
“For me, it manifests into anger. It manifests into rage, into how unfair this was, how I didn’t get a say in what happened, Jake told the interviewer, per The Blast. “I didn’t get to stop it from happening. I had no choice in the matter.”
Unfortunately, time has yet to make the burden any lighter, as the incident feels distant sometimes and very fresh other days.

Jake remembered suspecting something wasn’t right when his younger sister, Romy Reiner, kept trying to reach him. She had called repeatedly while he was at a celebration of life event. Upon picking up the call, he heard the worst news of his life.
“Romy told me our dad was dead, and then she said, ‘I can’t find mom,’” he recalled. “I immediately went into shock.”
The trauma sunk in even deeper when Jake visited his California childhood home after the incident.
“As a reporter, I did it for 10 years; I came up on crime scenes all the time. But when it’s your crime scene, a crime scene at your childhood home, it’s like the most surreal thing I’ve ever seen,” he painfully shared.
