Veteran Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has paid tribute to the late legendary actor Sam Loco Efe, describing him as the most intelligent actor to have ever emerged from Nollywood.
Inojie highlighted Sam Loco’s exceptional memory and ability to master scripts with remarkable speed. He recalled that the veteran actor could rehearse a scene with another actor just once and still remember every line during filming.
According to him, Sam Loco was also capable of helping fellow actors when they forgot their lines, as he would remind them of what they were supposed to say while the scene was ongoing.
Inojie further marvelled at the late actor’s unusual level of awareness, saying he appeared capable of hearing conversations even from a distance.
“Sam Loco was the most intelligent Nollywood actor that ever lived. He had an active subconscious mind that he’s capable of hearing what one is saying from a far distance. If you have a scene to play with him, he would only read with you once. He would tell you to go and rehearse your own lines. And when you miss your lines during acting, he would remind you about your lines.
“Sam Loco was from another planet, and it’s really unfortunat£ that he passed away without being given a national honor,” Inojie said.
Sam Loco, who was widely celebrated for his versatility and memorable performances, died in 2011 at the age of 66. His death marked a significant loss to Nigeria’s movie industry, where he had built a reputation as one of its most recognisable veteran actors.
