The Kebbi State Police Command has said that it has arrested six suspects in connection with cable vandalism and breaking and entry into the INEC Office in Jega, recovering all six stolen generators.
According to Kebbi Command Police image maker SP Bashir Usman the incident happened On 28th August 2026 at about 0730hrs, Police operatives arrested Aliyu Muhammed (male, aged 24, of Dudduke Village, Jega LGA) in possession of bundles of aluminium cable wires concealed in a sack.

Usman added that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to having conspired with Yusuf Dudduke of the same address to vandalise and steal cables from an electric pole at Dudduke Village and the suspect Yusuf Dudduke was subsequently arrested.
In a related development, however, following a report of breaking and entry into the INEC Office, Jega, where six generators were stolen, detectives were immediately deployed.
He said the operation led to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of all six stolen generators. One of the generators had, however, already been dismantled into scrap parts for sale.
The image maker stated that all suspects are in custody and will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, warns that vandalism of critical infrastructure, breaking and entry, and theft of government property will attract severe penalties.
He urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities .
He admonished members of the community to report an suspicious movements and/ or persons lurking around to the Police for prompt action.
