That’s A Fiiiiine Grandpappy Right Thurr! Proud Pop-Pop Chingy Reveals He’s A Granddad & The Father Of Actor Isaiah Russell-Bailey

We can now officially say that’s a fiiiiiine grandpappy right thurr, when it comes to a certain St. Louis rapper.

Fans were surprised to learn about Chingy’s children (and grandchild!) this week after watching the hip-hop star’s latest sit-down on The Jason Lee Show on Sept. 2. In fact, the rapper revealed that he has a famous son, who you might know from Disney’s Crater and Netflix’s Family Reunion: Isaiah Russell-Bailey

Chingy talks about his children on The Jason Lee Show.

Chingy, now 46, opened up about fatherhood when the topic of Sexyy Red came up. The rapper revealed to Jason that his near-30-year-old son, Mykael, went to school with the “Pound Town” hitmaker, which took Lee by total surprise.

“Wait, so you have a 30-year-old son?” he asked with a look of shock. “So, do you have two kids or three kids,” he clarified, to which Chingy happily replied:

“I have four kids: two boys, two girls.”

Still reeling from the fatherhood reveal, Jason admitted he knew about Chingy’s two young daughters, Keilana Timms and Galaxii Bailey. But sons? That was news to him. So Chingy dropped another bombshell: his youngest son,19-year-old Isaiah Russell-Bailey, is a “big actor” out in California.

Turns out, Isaiah Russell-Bailey has been quietly building a name for himself since bursting onto the scene in 2018. He starred in the Netflix family comedy Family Reunion (alongside Tia Mowry and Loretta Devine), playing Shaka — the mischievous but big-hearted son of the McKellan family as they relocate to small-town Georgia. From there, he leveled up to leading-man status, playing Caleb Channing in Disney+’s 2023 sci-fi adventure film, Crater.

In addition to acting, Isaiah is known for the dance videos he does alongside his mom, Brittany Perry-Russell.

Chingy is a proud grandfather, too.

But Chingy wasn’t done blowing minds. He then dropped the news that his older son, Mykael, had a son of his own.

“My son got a son,” he gushed happily.

“So you’re a grandfather?” Lee asked, stunned.

Chingy quickly interjected:

“I tell them don’t call me that. Call me pops,” he laughed. “I ain’t no granddaddy. I’m used to grandaddies being like 60. I ain’t nothing but like 46, that sounds crazy!”

Fans in the comments were just as blindsided as Jason.

“I have no one to talk about this with! Cause wtf 😅 I didn’t know Isaiah Russell-Bailey was his son 😳,” one TikTok user wrote.

“Shaka is Chingy’s son??? My daughter watches him all the time on Netflix!” another added.

And a third simply summed up the collective shock:

“Chingy, a grandpa?”

Honestly, same. We’re still processing it too. Read more about Chingy’s interview on The Jason Lee Show after the flip.

Chingy got real about his love life and set the record straight about that hookup story involving Tiffany Haddish.

Kids aside, Chingy also got real about his love life during his appearance on The Jason Lee Show. When Jason asked if he was married, the rapper said he was happily married to “himself.” As for why he’s flying solo, he blamed the state of the dating pool, calling out too many “delusional” women.

“They too into social media, their minds is all messed up,” he told Lee.

So, what does he actually look for?

“I like a girl who knows how to laugh,” he said.

Naturally, Jason couldn’t resist bringing up Tiffany Haddish — who Chingy had previously denied hooking up with, despite Haddish’s steamy claims on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2019.

This time around, Chingy admitted something did happen between them, though he claims he doesn’t remember much because he “was drunk.” It was his brother who informed him that their hanky-panky encounter did in fact happen.

He went on to allege that Haddish was “forcing herself” on him, and that at some point he decided to “let her feel it.” Make of that what you will — we’ll let you connect the dots.

So, what do you think of Chingy’s big dad (and grandpa) era? Sound off in the comments.
