TikTok Fitness Influencer Released After Amsterdam Central Station Stabbing

A 43-year-old TikTok fitness influencer suspected of involvement in a stabbing near Amsterdam Central Station has been released from custody.

The Public Prosecution Service confirmed that the man, who is from Naarden, had his pre-trial detention lifted. However, he remains a suspect as the investigation continues.

The stabbing happened in late August behind Amsterdam Central Station while the man was broadcasting a livestream on TikTok.

He was filming on De Ruijterkade, on the IJ side of the station, when an argument appeared to develop.

Footage from the livestream showed the man repeatedly saying, “don’t touch.”

“I’m not afraid of six, seven men,” he then said, followed by: “they’re all going to fall”.

At one point in the footage, the TikToker appeared to be holding a knife.

Four men were injured during the incident.

Three people, including the TikTok influencer, were taken to hospital. They were released either the same day or the following day.

Dutch prosecutors stressed that the investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
