Nigerian content creator Mc Oz has lamented the increasing cost of everyday purchases, drawing attention to the fact that customers now pay for nylon bags used to package items bought from some supermarkets.

According to him, the practice was not common under previous administrations led by former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.

“Let it be on record that under President Tinubu’s administration, we are now paying for nylon bags at supermarkets to package items we bought from the same supermarkets. Under former Presidents Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari, we never experienced this,” he said.

The comment has sparked debate online, with some Nigerians blaming the development on the current economic situation while others argued that charging for shopping bags is not unique to Nigeria or the Tinubu administration.
