The TV star on Friday, September 18, responded to a follower via her Instagram Story who had asked for a situation report on the progress made with her fertility journey. Port told the fan she is edging closer to the next egg transfer session and that she would be the carrier this time, despite past challenges.
Port and her husband Tim Rosenman had disclosed their plans to carry a pregnancy again in July, following a miscarriage that shook their camp and affected a pair of gestational carriers. She noted that two embryos were still available and if everything went to plan, they would be transferred in a few months.
Port added that her doctors also ensured she sorted out her hernia before going ahead with the rest of her pregnancy so it does not become a problem for her.
As reported by US Magazine, although excited about the next step in her fertility journey, Port confessed that she has been trying to manage her expectations and always looks out for the complicated optimism that follows missions like this. In her words:
“I can be hopeful and scared at the same time, and that’s pretty much where I am right now.”
The Reality TV Alum Detailed The Difficulty Of Watching Tim Rosenman Navigate The Miscarriages
In March, Port admitted to the news outlet that watching her husband deal with the heartbreak of multiple miscarriages left her short of words. The TV personality stated that while she knew how to console herself and put her emotions in check, to see her partner, whom she loves so much, break apart was a harrowing situation.
In her words, “I just don’t know what to say or don’t have the answer for. I look at him as, like, such a rock and someone that I lean on for so much that it breaks my heart to see that.”
Over the last seven years, according to Port, she has learned to flow through her struggles with a heart of gratitude for having been able to experience all that has happened to her.
The reality star noted that while everyone may not understand where she is coming from, being thankful in every season of her journey has contributed to the inner peace she feels, no matter what happens.
Whitney Port Was Staying Hopeful Before Devastating 2021 Pregnancy Loss
The Blast stated that before suffering a miscarriage in November 2021, the reality television alum had opened up about the uncertainty surrounding her pregnancy.
In an emotional YouTube video, the reality star had earlier revealed that she was seven weeks pregnant but stated that her doctor was not very optimistic about the embryo and heartbeat.
Given her history of pregnancy loss, Port shared that the medical team and she had been closely monitoring the pregnancy and said everything had appeared promising until a concerning doctor’s appointment.
She confessed in the video that the uncertainty was affecting her both physically and mentally, noting that it was also difficult to accept congratulations because she was still early in the pregnancy.
Describing the situation as very delicate, she said she and Rosenman were staying hopeful as things continued to progress. Unfortunately, Port later revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage, adding to her previously experienced miscarriages in 2019 and early 2021, as well as a chemical pregnancy.
‘The Hills’ Alum Faced Two Miscarriages In 2023 After Turning To Surrogacy
In 2023, Page Six stated that Port and her husband hit another rough patch in their quest to conceive a second child. The couple had disclosed that two pregnancies with their surrogate had resulted in miscarriage, with one happening around October of that year.
Speaking on Port’s “With Whit” podcast in 2023, the couple said they had attempted two embryo transfers, but both pregnancies ended at around seven and a half weeks. Rosenman confessed that the unexpected back-to-back losses left them questioning whether there could be an issue with either their embryos or the surrogacy process.
Still, they planned to continue trying, as Port stated that another existing embryo would be transferred to the surrogate while they considered an additional egg retrieval. The surrogacy setbacks followed years of pregnancy loss for Port, including her November 2021 miscarriage.
Port and her husband welcomed their son, Sonny, about two years after they tied the knot in 2015, and through their struggles, the reality TV alum has praised Rosenman for keeping her grounded.

Last year, Port appeared on an episode of Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney’s “SHE MD” podcast where she reflected on her first pregnancy. Port revealed that all it took for her to become a parent was getting off birth control, and the magic happened within months.
The reality TV personality described it as an easy process with normal morning sickness and a generally healthy pregnancy at 32. Her nightmares, however, began about a year after Sonny came when she had two miscarriages back-to-back, and her doctor suggested she see a specialist.
By 35, Port noted that she had experienced a total of five miscarriages, all with heartbeats. Her visit to the specialist was positive, and the doctor suggested she do the embryo transfer herself, but that process has failed.
