Content creator King Mitchy has advised young Nigerians involved in internet fraud, popularly known as Yah00, to reconsider their source of income and focus on learning legitimate skills.
In a video shared online, the media personality claimed that internet fraud is no longer as profitable as it once was.
“Yah00 no dey go again. Yah00 no dey pay again,” she said.
King Mitchy suggested that some young men who still appear financially comfortable may only be enjoying money they previously made and saved.
She also claimed that some others are now struggling to meet basic financial obligations, including paying rent, as they seek alternative sources of income.
The content creator also addressed women who are in relationships with men involved in internet fraud. She encouraged them to support their partners in learning useful skills instead of putting pressure on them to maintain an expensive lifestyle.
“If you are a girlfriend to a Yah00 boy encourage dat boy now to learn a skill,” she said.
Mitchy further advised young women not to make expensive gifts or financial support from men their primary expectations in relationships.
Speaking directly to young Nigerians who may be considering internet fraud as a career, she warned them against pursuing such a path.
“If you are watching my video as a young boy and you feel like, ‘Oh, as I grow up I’m going to become a Yah00 boy,’ don’t do it,” she said.
As alternatives, the content creator mentioned legitimate opportunities such as barbering, social media marketing, car sales and real estate promotion, encouraging young people to develop skills that can provide sustainable sources of income.
