The Ogun APC consensus governorship candidate for 2027, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, has announced a ₦100 million donation to and a future ₦250 million cooperative fund for the Ogun State chapter of the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), which has more than 67,000 registered members across the state.
Yayi made the announcement on Saturday after an engagement with the association’s leadership and executives in Ogun State.
The package also includes a new bus and 1,000 solar-powered lights for mechanic villages across Ogun.
Funding tied to cooperative scheme
Yayi said the N100 million donation should partly be used to establish a NATA Cooperative Society, with the rest spent on other urgent needs identified by the association.
He said the cooperative would receive another ₦250 million under his proposed administration. The money, he said, would help the association provide affordable financing to its members for their businesses and urgent financial needs.

The senator did not give a date for the proposed ₦250 million contribution. He presented it as a commitment that would take effect if he becomes governor of Ogun State.
The financial package was announced after the association presented issues affecting its members. Yayi said the discussions covered empowerment, mobility, mechanic villages, basic amenities and members’ welfare.
The association has more than 67,000 registered members across Ogun State, making its concerns relevant to a large group of automobile technicians operating in the state.
Yayi also announced plans to provide a brand-new bus for the association. The bus is part of the support package announced after the meeting with NATA executives.
Another 1,000 solar-powered lights were promised for mechanic villages across the state. The plan also includes the creation of additional mechanic villages where needed.
Existing mechanic villages are also to receive improvements to their facilities under the commitment announced by the senator.
“We also announced the provision of a brand-new bus and 1,000 solar-powered lights for mechanic villages across the state. We further committed to establishing additional mechanic villages where necessary and improving facilities in existing ones,” Yayi said.
Yayi said the measures are intended to give members access to support that can help their businesses and address immediate financial needs.
He also said the proposed cooperative scheme would provide a structure through which members could obtain affordable financing.
The senator thanked NATA leaders and members for their reception and support during the engagement.
He said his aim was to establish structures that would continue to support members after election periods.
