2027: No Deal For Adeleke To Join APC, Support Its Candidates – Campaign Spokesperson

The spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has debunked rumours that Governor Ademola Adeleke plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the January 16 election.
Olajengbesi, who is the Accord Party candidate for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, said in a statement on Friday that an APC House of Representatives candidate in the constituency was misleading voters with claims that Adeleke would officially join the APC after the poll and that an understanding already exists.
The Accord chieftain who did not name the APC candidate, described the claim as false and misleading.
“The public should please note that this claim is false. Governor Ademola Adeleke will not be joining the APC after the January 16 election or after the presidential election,” Olajengbesi said.

He clarified that the Governor’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be interpreted as an intention to defect to the APC or an endorsement of APC candidates in other elections.
“We are surprised that this individual would now desperately attempt to trade on the goodwill of Mr Governor to deceive and mislead the good people of Ijesa North. Political aspirations should be pursued on their own merit, not by creating impressions or understandings that do not exist,” he added.
