Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated former Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade (retd.), CFR, on his 87th birthday, describing him as an embodiment of courage, patriotism and dedicated service to Nigeria.

Adeleke, in a congratulatory message issued to mark the occasion, celebrated the military general and elder statesman’s remarkable journey from Yakoyo in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State to the highest levels of military leadership and national service.

The governor highlighted Akinrinade’s historic contributions to Nigeria, noting that he was the first son of Ife North and the first Yoruba man to serve as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff.

He also acknowledged the retired general’s contributions to national development through his military career and subsequent service in various ministerial capacities.
