The All Progressives Grand Alliance has warned its members not to support former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, accusing him of working to destroy the party he once belonged to.

In a statement titled A Betrayal Alert for Ndi APGA, signed by National Publicity Secretary Ejimofor Opara, the party asked why Obi, if he truly loved APGA, has fought against it in every election cycle.

It also asked why he has candidates ready to challenge APGA for every seat it contests.

APGA said it made Obi, yet he wants to destroy it.

It claimed he has had one mission since 2014, which is to destroy the party that made him, and accused him of backing opposition forces against it in 2017 and 2021.

It also said that while President Bola Tinubu backed APGA in 2025, Obi backed opposition forces against the party.

The party said a vote for Obi and the National Democratic Congress, which it called a Special Purpose Vehicle, is a vote against APGA.

It also denied any formal or informal deal with the NDC on power sharing, saying APGA remains a political party of record.

APGA also defended its support for Tinubu.

It said the backing is not only because the party has a long-standing habit of working with the party at the centre, but also because Tinubu has shown good faith in developing infrastructure in the Southeast, more than any government since 1999.

The party urged its members to reject attempts to deceive them and accused Obi of leaving APGA when it needed him and treating parties as vehicles to be used and dumped at will.

It ended by saying Anambra is APGA and that it is in the party’s interest to defend its fortress.
