An Austrian Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Vienna made an unplanned landing in Sofia, Bulgaria, late on Sunday after a bomb threat was reported.

The crew got the threat as the plane neared the Romanian border.

Bulgaria reportedly sent MiG 29 fighter jets to follow the plane.

Officers searched the plane and checked every passenger and crew member.

They found no danger.

Everyone boarded again, and the flight carried on to Vienna.

The airline confirmed on Monday that flight OS82, which flew on October 18, made the stop because of the threat.

The landing came less than three weeks after a co-pilot on a flydubai flight to Israel reportedly tried to crash the plane with an axe.

The United Arab Emirates attorney general said the co-pilot wanted to hit a terminal at Ben Gurion Airport.

The captain stopped him.
