Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
She shared the news in an emotional online post on Friday, saying he had gone to be with the Lord.
She said she lost her mother 13 years ago and that with her father gone, she now has neither parent, which breaks her heart in a way she cannot fully explain.
She called him her daddy and her comfort.
The actress said she is thankful he lived a long life and that he got to see his children and grandchildren.
She said the family had hoped he would meet his great-grandchildren too.
She added that no matter how many years we get with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace and one more day.
She said she is grateful for the moments they shared, especially towards the end of his life.
Chukwuka said she kept the news private for a while as she tried to understand her own grief before deciding to announce it.
She asked the public to keep her, her siblings and the whole Chukwuka family in their prayers.
She said details of the funeral will be shared when the family is ready.
She ended her tribute by calling him the Olowo of Ikate and saying she will always love him.
She posted the message with Bible verses, including Proverbs 17:6 and Psalm 34:18, which speaks of the Lord being close to the brokenhearted.
