Davido’s past promise never to back the APC has come back into the spotlight.
His uncle, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been named coordinator of President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.
Some social media users are angry.
They point to the 2026 Osun governorship election, when Adeleke and the APC were rivals.
One user said people died fighting for Adeleke to win against Tinubu’s party, and now he has joined its campaign.
Another tagged Davido and said fans were disappointed in his uncle.
Davido had said before the August 2026 Osun election that he could never support the APC.
After news of the appointment spread, he shared a video of Adeleke dancing and singing online.
He did not comment on the new role.
Adeleke won re-election on the Accord Party ticket and is among the coordinators in Tinubu’s campaign team.
