The Ogun State Police Command has promised INEC adequate security for its staff, offices and electoral materials ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The assurance came from Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni during a visit to INEC’s Ogun office in Abeokuta on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

He met the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Feyijimi Saseyi.

Ojajuni toured the INEC premises and discussed security arrangements.

“From now until the end of the 2027 General Elections, the INEC office will become our second office,” he said.

He said security plans will focus on intelligence, early threat checks, information sharing and coordinated deployment of officers.

He also said all operations will be carried out professionally and impartially.

Saseyi thanked him for the visit and said INEC is ready to work with the police to ensure free, fair and credible elections.

Ojajuni urged political parties, candidates and supporters to respect the law and avoid violence and intimidation.

He also asked residents to report security concerns promptly and to avoid spreading unverified information.
