Sanwo-Olu Celebrates Dele Alake at 70, Hails Contributions to Lagos, Nigeria

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, on his 70th birthday.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described Alake as a respected journalist, communication strategist and administrator whose career has made a significant mark in the media, politics and public service.

The governor also described the minister as an epitome of uprightness, commending his commitment to national development.

Alake, a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, was also praised for his contributions to the state’s development and his role in public communication and governance.

Sanwo-Olu commended Alake’s work as Minister of Solid Minerals Development, particularly his efforts to advance the sector under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“On behalf of my family, the Government and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, on his Platinum Jubilee celebration.

“Mr Dele Alake deserves accolades at 70 for his remarkable contributions and positive impact on the media industry, political activism, Lagos State and Nigeria.

“As Mr Dele Alake celebrates his 70th birthday, I pray that God will increase him in good health to enable him to render more service to humanity and Nigeria,” the governor said.

The birthday celebration marks seven decades of Alake’s life and a career spanning journalism, political communication, public administration and federal service.
