Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023 — Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, declared on Monday in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State, that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in 2027 without difficulty because of his appointments and local projects.
Wike made this statement during town hall meetings with the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area. He asked community residents to back the president by turning out to vote during the next general election.
“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election.
Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election,” Wike said.
He instructed citizens to drop political sentiments and support the administration in power. He noted that the president rewarded the state with top federal positions and political rewards.
“I know the re-election of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure he gets a massive number of votes. We can do it,” he said.
Opposition parties lack support
The former governor attacked key opposition leaders who plan to contest the presidency against Tinubu in the upcoming election.
He targeted former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Rivers governor Rotimi Amaechi, who both align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Wike stated that the ADC party structure in Rivers State cannot meet election requirements. He said the party will fail to earn the mandatory 25 per cent voter score across the state.
He dismissed Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and other rival politicians, calling them unelectable.
Call for political unity
Wike warned his political partners and local followers to end chieftaincy and community disputes across the state.
He warned that internal fighting among supporters would harm their campaign preparation before the political season starts.
“What will be, will be. You don’t need to kill yourself. Anything that God said would be, it would be,” Wike said.
