The U.S. Department of Justice has charged 63 foreign nationals, including two Nigerians, with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration and falsely claiming US citizenship.
The charges were announced on Monday as part of a wider crackdown on election-related offences.
The two Nigerians are Mohammed Omar Hassan, 61, and Michael Agah, 74.
Both are lawful permanent residents of the United States.
Hassan has been charged in Texas with voting as a non-citizen.
He allegedly voted in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
Agah has been charged in North Carolina with voting as a non-citizen and falsely claiming to be a US citizen on a form to vote.
He allegedly voted in the federal election on November 5, 2024.
U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said this was the largest surge in voter fraud arrests since President Donald Trump returned to office.
The department says it has charged 195 non-citizens across 25 states in the past nine weeks, bringing the total to 239 since the administration began.
Two months ago, the department charged three other Nigerians over similar offences.
All those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
