Atiku blasts Tinubu over education, living hardship

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hit back at President Bola Tinubu over questions raised concerning his school investments.

Atiku accused the current administration of hiding governance failures behind personal attacks.

Phrank Shaibu released the statement on Saturday in his capacity as the Director of Strategic Communication. Atiku serves as the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress.

History of investments and money questions

Atiku stated that his school work started years before he entered public office. He laid the base for Abti Academy in 1993, which later became the American University of Nigeria.

The former Vice President recalled a United States court ruling from 1993.

He claimed the court ordered the forfeiture of four hundred and sixty thousand dollars in an account tied to Tinubu, labelling the money as proceeds of narcotics trafficking or illegal financial transactions.

Hardship and fuel policy clashes

Atiku blamed the government for a crushing cost-of-living crisis. He noted that over seventy-nine million citizens now live in extreme poverty due to policies implemented since the inauguration in 2023.

The politician also faulted a comment made by the campaign Director-General of the current administration. He stated that the official labelled hungry citizens as lazy.
