Following an alleged offensive post on Facebook, Katsina State is currently experiencing heightened tension.
According to reports, the controversial Facebook post written in Hausa was shared by one Christian indigene identified as Mani Abubakar.
Eagle Online gathered that the post allegedly contained derogatory remarks about Islam, asserting that it lacked foundation and questioned the origin of the Quran.
Reacting to the perceived blasphemy, a mob seeking retaliation sought to locate and harm Abubakar over the post.
However, the mob, failing to find him, resorted to burning his house and car in Babaruga late on Tuesday. They intensified efforts to locate Abubakar.
Several concerns have been shown for Abubakar’s safety as his current whereabouts remained unknown.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, in its response to the issue, noted that collaboration is being made with authorities to meet the Emir of Katsina to address the situation and ensure Abubakar’s safety.
Speaking on the incident, the Vice chairman of CAN in Katsina State, Venerable Muyiwa Segun, said, “Everyone should respect the other’s religion.
“Christians don’t have any business abusing other people’s religion. That is not how to do evangelism.”
He however confirmed CAN’s efforts in working with religious leaders and security agencies to foster peace and safety in the community.
