2027: Lagos PDP governorship aspirant, Adeoye, donates equipment to party secretariat

A prominent Lagos State PDP governorship aspirant, Mr Adelaja Adeoye, has donated some operational equipment to the party secretariat in Ikeja ahead of 2027 general elections.

Adeoye,in a statement on Friday in Lagos,  said he donated the equipment through his Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO).

Some of the items handed over by LACO Coordinator, Chief Ademola Alebiosu, and Mr Yusuf Fadeyi, Adeoye’s Special Assistant on General Duties, on his behalf ,include air conditioners, refrigerators,  sound system and plastic chairs.

The items were received by Dr Amos Fawole, the State Party Chairman, in company of other party officials.

Speaking, Adeoye, a real estate entrepreneur, described the gesture as part of his effort to strengthen the party in the state and provide an enabling environment for party leaders to operate in.

The aspirant pledged additional support for the party in the state.

He commended party leaders for their sacrifices for the PDP in the state , describing a former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, as a tireless and dedicated leader.

According to him, George’s relentless efforts in building the PDP in Lagos deserve appreciation and backing from the younger generation.

The aspirant urged all PDP members to collaborate in rebuilding the party from the state down to the local government, ward, and unit levels.

“It is crucial to develop the party at the grassroots, deepen democracy, and ensure that accurate information about the PDP reaches the people,” he said.

Adeoye said that the PDP remained the only credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

“For the party to truly take over power and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to the good people of Lagos, all hands must be on deck,” he said.

According to him, the strength of the PDP as a vital opposition party explains why are being deployed to destabilise it.

He expressed solidarity with PDP’s National Working Committee led by Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki and other leaders, including Gov. Seyi Makinde, George, and Fawole, among others, for their steadfastness in spite of the ongoing legal battle for the soul of the party at the Supreme Court.

“We are ready to accept and follow whatever decision our party leaders take following the outcome of the case at the Supreme Court.

” We affirm our firm loyalty to our leaders and will follow whichever direction they lead us,” he said.

Responding, Fawole, expressed gratitude to Adeoye for his rigorous commitment to the party, saying PDP would overcome all current challenges and wrestle power from the ruling APC.

NAN reports that Adeoye had previously supported party members with  motorcycles, laptops and other items  in 2023.

He also donated over N10 million to PDP candidates during the last Local Government elections in Lagos. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
