The re-election campaigns of EKiti State governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, and her deputy Monisade Christianah Afuye, was yesterday kick-started with All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, expressing confidence that the June 20, governorship poll is as good as already been won by the ruling party.
In his speech on Monday at the official flag off of the campaign organised by Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council held at Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti , the state capital Yilwatde expressed optimism that Oyebanji will win the polls on the strength of his giant stride in every sectors of the state in less than four years.
Dwelling on the achievements of the governor he said, “Oyebanji has won already, for the peace you brought to the state, for bringing everyone to Ekiti today, I commend you. For bringing the former Governors together, for building bridges, schools, you have done well.
“On behalf of the National Working Committee of APC, we stand today to say the election has already been won. We will go from ward to ward, village to village, street to streets, everywhere to declare that he will win.”
Governors Hope Uzodinma, Usman Ododo, Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Uba Sani, Mohammed Bago and Sheriff Oborevwori were present at the event.
Also former Ekiti governors, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Ayodele Fayose, Chief Segun Oni, and Niyi Adebayo, graced the event.
Other APC stalwarts are APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Secretary, Senator Akinola Basiru National Vice Chair, South, Dr Isaac Kekemeke National Financial President, Haruna Gisar, National Treasurer, Mathew Uguru, Senator Biodun Olujimi among others.
Governor Oyebanji said his government has been able to positively impact the lives of the people with the assistance of President Bola Tinubu-led federal government, adding that his government will do more after his re-election.
