NYSC Mourns Slain Nasarawa Corps Member Abdulsamad Jamiu Killed In Abuja Crossfire

The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has expressed its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Corps Member Abdulsamad Jamiu (NS/25A/2904), who sadly lost his life during a military operation in the vicinity of his residence at Shagari Estate, Dei-Dei, Abuja, in the early hours of Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The NYSC said until his unfortunate demise, Corps Member Jamiu was serving at Government Junior Secondary School, Bakin Ado, Nasarawa State, where he was contributing to national development through the Scheme.

According to a statement signed by the NYSC Management and posted on the Scheme’s verified Facebook page on Monday, it noted that the incident with profound concern and sorrow. “The Scheme is actively engaging with relevant security agencies to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” it stated.

It added that while the incident was deeply regrettable, the Scheme reaffirmed its commitment to the safety, security, and welfare of all Corps Members and staff across the country.

“Efforts will continue to be strengthened in collaboration with security and intelligence agencies to mitigate risks and enhance protection nationwide.

“The NYSC stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult period and prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased,” it said.
