A 42-year-old woman, Olatunde Funke, who was earlier reported missing in Ilara-Mokin, has been found in a hotel in Ugbe-Akoko, bringing an unexpected twist to the case.
The woman’s disappearance had sparked panic among residents after her husband raised the alarm when she reportedly left their home without notice. Family members and locals feared she may have been abducted or harmed, prompting search efforts.
According to sources, security operatives later traced her to a hotel in Ugbe-Akoko, located about 124 kilometres from Ilara-Mokin—a journey that typically takes nearly three hours by road.
Investigations revealed that she was not kidnapped as initially suspected. Instead, she reportedly left voluntarily and was found in the company of a 55-year-old man identified as Isa Alaba.
The development has generated mixed reactions within the community, with many expressing relief over her safety while others continue to question the circumstances surrounding her sudden departure.
