Oyo APC chieftain declares for Reps seat

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Abiodun Gbolagade, on Sunday formally declared his intention to contest for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.

Gbolagade made his declaration at the party secretariat, New Garage, Oluyole Local Government Area of the state, where he reaffirmed his commitment to a people-centred and inclusive style of representation, promising to remain accessible and responsive to the needs of constituents.

He said his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to serve and to expand opportunities for development within the constituency.

“I, Abiodun Gbolagade, formally declare my intention to contest for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in 2027.

“I will continue to remain people-focused, inclusive, and committed to touching lives positively. This platform will be fully harnessed to bring home more dividends of democracy to our people”, he declared.

The APC chieftain assured party faithful of his dedication to strengthening the party structure across all levels, noting that effective grassroots engagement remains key to sustainable political success.

The former Special Adviser on Housing to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi also promised to work with security agencies to rid the constituency of criminality and other heinous acts.

Gbolagade, who is the current Mogaji Olubadan of Oke Labo, Lato Compound in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, expressed optimism that the APC would record a resounding victory in the coming election.

His declaration drew a large turnout of party leaders, supporters, and stakeholders from across the constituency, reflecting growing acceptance and support for his aspiration.

The event also featured endorsements from party stakeholders, who attested to Gbolagade’s longstanding contributions and goodwill within the party.

Party structures from the local government down to unit levels also declared support for him.

In attendance were student leaders, representatives of artisan groups, market leaders, and other community stakeholders, all of whom expressed confidence in his leadership capacity and vision for the constituency.
