“They Said They Won’t Go With Me”- Fulani Man Cries Out After Lagos Bus Passengers Reject Him

A northern traveller identified as Bashir Dalhatu Liman has alleged that some passengers in Lagos refused to board a commercial bus with him because of his Fulani identity.
According to reports circulating online, the incident happened at a motor park where the man was preparing to travel from Lagos to Calabar. He claimed that other passengers objected to sharing the vehicle with him after identifying him as Fulani and allegedly referring to him as a “herdsman.”
The traveller narrated that the situation became uncomfortable, leading to further delays and public attention after videos of the incident surfaced online.
“Just because I’m a Fulani man, the passengers said they are not going with me.”
The report has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning ethnic profiling and discrimination, while others pointed to growing security concerns and mistrust across communities.
