“Tinubu is a one-term president, he won’t return in 2027” – Sowore insists

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has made a strong political statement about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s future, insisting that he will not return for a second term in office.

Sowore made the remark while criticising the current administration, claiming that Nigerians are going through difficult times under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I can assure Nigerians that Tinubu is not coming back, he’s a one-term president, he’s sucking the life out of Nigerians,” he said.

His statement reflects ongoing political tension and criticism surrounding the administration, with opposition voices continuing to question economic and governance policies.

Sowore had previously criticised the newly signed Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2026, describing it as a threat to Nigeria’s democracy.

His reaction followed President Bola Tinubu’s assent to the amended electoral law at the State House in Abuja, a development that has triggered reactions from Nigerians and opposition parties demanding free and fair elections ahead of 2027.
