Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi has indicated that his nation is considering US President Donald Trump’s request for negotiations, as stated in a post on the minister’s Telegram account.
He informed reporters in Russia that Trump sought negotiations because the US has not met any of its goals regarding Iran.
Trump canceled a planned visit to Islamabad by his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for discussions aimed at resolving the conflict and mentioned that Iran could reach out if it wished to negotiate.
Araqchi asserted that the Islamic Republic was ‘stable, solid’ during a meeting in Russia with President Vladimir Putin, according to Russian state television.
He remarked that due to the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, “the world has now recognized Iran’s true strength, and it has become evident that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a stable, solid, and powerful system.”
He further noted that Russia has supported Iran, and the two nations would persist in their ‘strategic partnership.’
On his part, Putin conveyed to Araqchi, as reported by Russian state media, ‘Last week I received a message from Iran’s Supreme Leader. I would like to ask you to express my deepest gratitude for this and to affirm that Russia, like Iran, aims to continue our strategic relationship.’
Facing Putin, Araqchi was reported to have said, “We have demonstrated to the entire world that Iran has reliable allies and friends such as the Russian Federation.
‘We appreciate your steadfast and unwavering support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.’
