The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued an important update for candidates participating in the ongoing Nigeria Police recruitment exercise, particularly those facing issues with their invitation slips for screening.
Candidates marked “Qualified” but without invitation letters
According to the Commission, some applicants who successfully completed their applications and were marked “QUALIFIED” on their submission slips have reported difficulties accessing their invitation letters.
The PSC has directed affected candidates to take immediate action by forwarding their submission slips to [email protected] for resolution.
This step is expected to enable the Commission verify records and reissue the necessary invitation details before the screening phase concludes.
Screening timeline and next stages
The physical and credential screening exercise is scheduled to end on April 18, 2026, marking the close of the first major phase of the recruitment process.
Candidates who successfully pass this stage will proceed to the next phase, which is the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The shortlist for the CBT stage is expected to be released between April 20 and April 22, 2026, after which eligible candidates will be required to log in to the official recruitment portal to print their CBT invitation slips.
CBT examination details
The Commission has fixed April 28 to April 30, 2026 for the nationwide CBT, which will be conducted across all 36 states and the FCT.
The test is a key screening stage designed to assess candidates’ competence in:
- English Language
- Mathematics (Quantitative Reasoning)
- Current Affairs
Candidates are advised to check their specific exam date, venue, and time on their printed CBT slips once released.
Key instructions for applicants
The PSC emphasised that only candidates who complete the physical screening will be eligible for shortlisting into the CBT stage.
Applicants are also reminded that the recruitment process is completely free, and any request for payment to influence shortlisting or posting should be treated as fraudulent.
PSC Chairman, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, reiterated that all official communication will be done through the designated portal: npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
Candidates are strongly advised to rely only on verified channels and avoid misinformation, especially as the process moves into its final stages.
