A/Ibom: Council Chair, Rep, Others Laud Peaceful Poll As Tinubu Sweeps Primaries

Across the 369 political wards spread across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom, incumbent President Bola Tinubu, has cleared the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries on Saturday.

‎At the end of the voting process, the Returning Officer (RO), Hon. Marshall Marshal Effiong, officially announced President Tinubu as the winner in Ward 11, describing the oll as “peaceful and well-conducted exercise.”

‎In his remarks, Udo, who doubles as the State branch of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), expressed appreciation to all party faithful for their “commitment, discipline, and steadfast support throughout the exercise,” following the earlier appeals by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.

‎He commended the peaceful conduct of members and the unity demonstrated before, during, and after the election.

In the same vein, the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, who mobilised delegates to vote massively in the presidential primaries and return President Bola Tinubu, as candidate of the party ahead of the 2027 elections, applauded the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise.

“I want to applaud the seamless conduct of the party primaries since the commencement of the exercise last week,” he said, and promised that “the federal constituency will deliver all the candidates of the APC overwhelmingly at the polls.”
