City Boy Movement Hosts Muslims Community, Distribute 200 Bags Of Rice, Food Items In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Chapter of the City Boy Movement, on Thursday, hosted members of the Islamic community to a grand Salah celebration in commemoration of the Eid-El-Kabir festivities.

The event also witnessed the distribution of over 200 bags of rice and other food items to Muslims clerics, youths, women and others
as a gesture of solidarity, love, and support during the festive season.

The distribution which took place at the State Secretariat of the Movement also served as a strong demonstration of religious harmony, unity, inclusiveness, and sustained grassroots engagement under the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during the event, State Director of the Movement, Barr. Osomkime Edwin Blankson, conveyed the goodwill message of the leadership to the Muslim Ummah in Bayelsa State.

Represented by the Deputy State Director, Chief. Deinboleigha Tiki Gbodo, he emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, national unity, and collective responsibility in advancing Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

He noted that the City Boy Movement remains committed to fostering inclusiveness and strengthening relationships across religious and ethnic lines.

Responding on behalf of the Islamic community, the Chairman of the Islamic Community, Mr Yakubu Otobo, expressed profound appreciation to the City Boy Movement for its consistency in identifying and supporting the Muslim community in Bayelsa State.

He equally commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for its Renewed Hope agenda and appreciated the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for promoting peace, tolerance, and religious harmony within the state.

Mr Otobo assured the Movement of the unwavering support of the Muslim community toward the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged support for progressive candidates contesting both state and federal elective positions.

In his brief, Chairman of the League of Imams, Mr Abusufien Uche, and the Youth Leader, Mr Mohammed Erefagha, both reaffirmed the commitment of the Muslim community to mobilising massive grassroots support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

They pledged to champion what they described as a “million man mobilisation movement” in support of the President’s second term bid.

The Islamic leaders further commended the City Boy Movement for its continuous show of love, inclusion, and support toward the Muslim community, noting that such gestures strengthen national unity, peaceful coexistence, and collective development.

The event concluded with special prayers for peace, progress, stability, and prosperity for Bayelsa State and Nigeria.
