“Daddy Adeboye gave the order” – Alleged RCCG member calls out church over cancelled protest against insecurity

A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after calling out the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, over the cancellation of an alleged planned peaceful protest.
According to him, church members were informed to embark on a three-day fasting programme and later participate in a peaceful walk with placards over the insecurity situation in the country.
Speaking in a viral video, he said:
“Last week Sunday, we were told we would do a three days fasting which started on Friday. On Sunday, there won’t be service in every Redeemed Christian Church of God because we would head out for a peaceful walk protest.”
The man claimed that after arriving at church prepared for the march, members were suddenly informed that another directive had been received and the protest would no longer hold.
Speaking emotionally in Yoruba, he accused church leaders of remaining silent despite the growing insecurity in the country, alleging that political influence played a role in the cancellation.
“Just because the wife of the president of this country, Oluremi Tinubu, who is a pastor in Redeem, gave order, and you people cancelled the protest.
“Daddy, may God judge you. We’re no longer safe in this country, we’re finished. The church is ruined. Redeem members were told to hold protest, but you Daddy Enoch Adeboye stopped that protest,” he added.
The video has generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians supporting his frustration over insecurity while others defended the church leadership.
The development continues to fuel conversations online about the role of religious institutions and influential leaders in speaking against insecurity and hardship in the country.
