The African Democratic Congress candidate for Langtang South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Nanmwa Jimmy Chetto, has extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful and called for peace, unity, and tolerance in the constituency.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Chetto described the festival as a period of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
He urged residents of Langtang South to embrace the values of harmony, love, and mutual understanding across religious and ethnic lines. “Eid reminds us of the importance of sacrifice and obedience to the will of the Almighty. As we celebrate, let us recommit ourselves to building a united and prosperous Langtang South,” he said.
Chetto also appealed to political leaders, youths, and traditional rulers to work together regardless of political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity, noting that unity is essential to addressing insecurity and development challenges in the area.
The ADC candidate said that if elected into the Plateau State House of Assembly, he would focus on legislation supporting youth empowerment, agriculture, security, and good governance.He further prayed for peace and stability in Plateau State and Nigeria, while encouraging voters to support credible leadership in the coming election.
