Eko Prestigious Lions Club Donates Solar-Powered Fans To Alausa Primary Health Centre

There Was joy and excitement on Wednesday as Eko Prestigious Lions Club donated five solar-powered fans to Alausa Primary Health Centre, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The donation of the fans was part of the club’s legacy project for the 2025/26 Lions Service Year. The club also donated solar panels to the health cerntre.

Speaking at the event, the president of Eko Prestigious Lions Club, Lion Lanre Gad Bamikiya, said that the club conducted a needs assessment and found out that the centre did not have enough fans and there was frequent power outage in the area and decided to procure solar-powered fans for the centre.

According to him, the fans can run on electricity and solar, adding that staff and patients will no longer suffer the heat that Nigerians currently complain about.

The president of Eko Prestigious Lions Club stated the project was a continuation of the project that the club executed at the centre in the 2024/25 Lions Service Year.

According to him, last year, the club executed a major project at the health by renovating the entire health, drilling a borehole, and providing chairs and fans.

Bamikiya added that the club bought the solar-powered fans for the centre because it wants to make patients and staff comfortable when there is no electricity.

Commissioning the fans, Lion Oluwakemi Eribake, District Governor, Lions Club International District 404B2 Nigeria, commended Eko Prestigious Lions Club for donating the fans to the health centre.

She said that she was in the area to assess the projects of clubs in Region 5 of the district. She described Lions Club International as the largest humanitarian organizations in the world which purpose is serve the poor and needy in society in the areas of child cancer, hunger relief,

Lion Eribake called on public spirited individuals to join the club in the quest to serve the needy and make the country and the world a better place.

A representative of the health centre thanked the club for the donation, and urged the club to intervene in other areas that centre needs help.
