JUST IN: NDC clears air on viral primaries result, summons emergency NEC meeting

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has disowned results of its recent primary elections currently circulating on social media, describing them as fake.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the party urged the public and stakeholders to disregard the purported results.
“The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nationwide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on the 28th and 29th of May, 2026,” the statement read.
Director said the authentic results are currently with the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party, which alone is authorised to announce them.
“On the directive of the National Leader of our party, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, a NEC meeting has been convened.
It noted that all NEC members are expected to arrive in Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, while the main NEC meeting will hold on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
“The general public and stakeholders will be duly informed of the results of our primaries when we forward the list of candidates to fly our party’s flag to INEC,” the party said.
