NLC Chieftain, Adeyanju Salutes Muslims On EID Mubarak, Tasks Nigerians On Peace, Unity

The Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, has sent messages of peace and unity to all Nigerians during this festive period of Eid-Mubarak.

The Oyo Prince, and immediate past President -General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), sounded positive in his message to all Nigerians, urging them to always develop a positive mindset towards the Country and her leadership, saying that Nigeria as a country had almost gone past her turbulent period, given the menace of insecurity and poverty in the land.
He called on Nigerians to be hopeful and ready to reap the benefits of their sacrifice to the country.

He used this occasion of Muslims’ celebration to justify his beliefs that the Almighty Allah is all Merciful and just in dealing with his people.
He asserted that as a nation, Nigerians must not lose hope, assuring that Almighty God is a justifiable King, who reigns from his heavenly throne.
He added that “as a Nation, ways and thoughts are not the ways of Allah; hence, He’s the all-knowing God.”
Adeyanju, who is also the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) President, acknowledged the fact that Nigerians are passing through a difficult stage of transformation, which he assured would eventually benefit all and sundry in no distant time.

Comrade Adeyanju also called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to quickly resolve the issues of insecurity and the senseless killings across the country, emphasising that no nation thrives where insecurity and fear of the unknown reign.

He, however, commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Hon. Adegboyega Oyetola, for his positive and giant strides in the sector.

The Maritime/ Labour leader gave kudos to the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Managing Director of Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), the Director -General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency ( NIMASA) the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), the leadership of STOAN, and other stakeholders and captains of industries in the sector, praying that the Almighty Allah will use this festive period to strengthen them in their individual endeavours, their sector and to the service of the nation.

He prayed that the Almighty Allah give the country’s leadership the necessary wisdom to steer the ship of this country to its expected destination and glory, affirming that the majority of Nigerians now live from hand to mouth.
He called for the urgent need of the government to attend to the yearnings of the people who are desperately in need of their everyday survival.

Comrade Adeyanju used the Eid-Mubarak festivity message to thank all Nigerians for their resilience, doggedness, and tolerance while coping with the hard situation in the country.

He reminded Nigerians that no situation lasts forever and that no sooner than later, the light would beam out of the tunnel, adding that Nigerians would have cause to glorify the Almighty God for his mercies and kindness
