NSCDC Deploys 686 Operatives For Enhanced Security Ahead Of Eid-El-Kabir Celebration In Yobe

In a proactive measure aimed at ensuring a peaceful and secure Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Yobe State Command has announced the deployment of 686 operatives across the state. This initiative comes as part of an extensive security strategy to safeguard citizens during the festive period.

The Ag. State Commandant, DCC Bala Habule Disa, emphasized the importance of maintaining order and safety throughout the state capital and the 17 local government areas in Yobe. “Our goal is to ensure that all citizens enjoy the Eid celebration without fear or disruption,” he stated.

The deployment will see personnel assigned to monitor various critical locations, including recreation centers, identified black spots, Eid prayer grounds, and key national assets and infrastructure. The NSCDC aims to pre-empt potential criminal activities that could threaten the celebratory atmosphere of Eid-El-Kabir.

Operatives drawn from several specialized units—including the Anti-Vandal Unit, Counter Terrorism Unit, Female Strike Force Unit, CBRNE Unit, Agro Rangers Unit, Special Forces Unit, and the Disaster and Crisis Management Department—will be strategically positioned to uphold security and respond swiftly to any incidents.

Commandant Disa further advised the deployed operatives to uphold professionalism, discipline, and humanity in their duties. He issued a stern warning against accidental discharges, underscoring that standard operating procedures (SOPs) do not accommodate errors.

In addition to the operational measures, the commandant urged the public to actively engage in enhancing security within their communities. “Security is a collective responsibility. I implore all citizens to cooperate with security agencies, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities,” he advised.

Acknowledging the efforts of law-abiding Yobeans in maintaining peace, Commandant Disa extended warm wishes for a joyous Eid al-Kabir celebration to all Muslim faithful in the state.
