Radda Emerges Katsina APC Governorship Candidate For 2027 Poll

Excitement, chants and loud applause filled the People’s Square in Katsina yesterday as Governor Dikko Umaru Radda was affirmed as the sole governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
Thousands of party supporters, delegates and political stakeholders across the state gathered at the venue in a show of unity and loyalty to the governor, whose name was adopted without opposition during the affirmation exercise.
The atmosphere at the event reflected confidence and satisfaction among party members, many of whom waved APC flags, sang solidarity songs and hailed the governor’s leadership as his endorsement was announced through a voice vote.
The chairman of the APC Electoral Committee from the party’s national headquarters, Yakubu Maccido, who supervised the exercise, declared that Governor Radda emerged through a unanimous agreement reached by party stakeholders across the state.
According to him, the peaceful and smooth conduct of the exercise demonstrated the level of unity and discipline within the Katsina APC.
He noted that unlike situations in some states where internal disagreements created tension during party exercises, Katsina recorded a calm and united process under the leadership of Governor Radda.
Supporters at the venue described the governor’s emergence as the sole candidate as a reflection of growing confidence in his administration and the trust party members have in his leadership.
Many party faithful expressed optimism that the governor’s endorsement would further strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The affirmation exercise ended with celebrations as supporters cheered the governor and party leaders, expressing hope for continuity and stability in the state.
