UEFA has confirmed that German official Daniel Siebert will take charge of the 2026 Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.
The 42-year-old referee, who has held international status since 2015, will oversee his first UEFA club competition final. Despite his relative inexperience at this level, Siebert has built a strong reputation across Europe.
This season alone, he has handled nine Champions League matches, including two high-stakes knockout ties involving Arsenal: the quarter-final against Sporting CP and the semi-final against Atlético Madrid.
Siebert brings major tournament experience to the final, having officiated at both Euro 2020 and Euro 2024. His composed style and consistent decision-making have earned him trust among European football’s governing body.
For the showpiece in Budapest, Siebert will be joined by two fellow Germans as assistant referees: Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be managed by another German, Bastian Dankert, ensuring a all‑German officiating team for the continental decider.
