A Nigerian traveller has sparked conversations online after sharing an emotional account of alleged discrimination and harsh treatment faced while travelling to Mauritius through Dubai.
In a viral post shared online, the traveller claimed that after arriving in Mauritius, Nigerian passengers were reportedly separated and questioned extensively before their visas were allegedly declined.
The post also described difficulties faced at the Nigerian airport before departure, including claims of harassment and delays allegedly linked to immigration procedures.
According to the viral statement:

After turbulence in the air and we arrived Dubai and connected to the next flight going to Mauritius 🇲🇺
On arrival the move us all Nigerians to one side interviewing us like we are ex convicts or thieves even when we have all the requirements and necessary documents,they deported us like we committed crime against the whole humanity …
Before I leave Nigeria at the airport they almost made me stranded because the immigration Will be demanding money and making it look if you don’t give them they won’t stamp for you
I almost miss the flight because of delay in sending them money
…let me reserve my words because shake hand daw him belly
This same Nigeria contain foreigners with or without papers moving freely but we Nigerians with every requirement are still not allowed to access or visit another Africa country

Another accompanying statement added:
“Our visa was declined after we arrived in Mauritius. Everybody dey pursue Nigerians from their country. They’re taking us back to Nigeria.”
